Engine House is a new Midlands based touring company which aims to inspire and challenge audiences through a commitment to produce and tour new work, adaptations and rediscover contemporary plays and classics; working in collaboration with a range of small and mid-scale venues and partners. The company’s inaugural production Oleanna, directed by Matt Aston and starring Alistair McGowan and Clare Foster, was widely acclaimed and will undertake a 2012 UK tour marking the 20th anniversary of David Mamet’s play, thanks to the relationship forged between Engine House and the University of Nottingham’s Lakeside Arts Centre.

This partnership continues with Red Riding Hood, a new commission from the award-winning children’s writer Mike Kenny which Engine House premieres in Nottingham in December 2011. Late at night a young brother and sister are telling each other stories that get scarier and scarier……but are they brave enough to mention the big bad wolf?

From Olivier Award winning Children’s writer Mike Kenny comes a brand new adaptation of the classic children’s tale. With music and songs from Julian Butler (Charlie and Lola), Red Riding Hood promises to be a magical hit for children aged 4 – 8 and their families.
