“You are the Pixar of theatre” – Audience Member, The Owl and The Pussycat
“Delightful, energetic, enough charm to butter crumpets” – The Stage on Rumpelstiltskin

Hiccup Theatre explores the interplay between music, story telling, puppetry and music theatre. Often the music is live and the actors always perform as a ensemble; the work is collaborative, pushing the artistic boundaries of what theatre for young audiences can be.

Following the success of The Owl and The Pussycat in 2010/11 and Rumpelstiltskin in 2012/13, Hiccup Theatre’s next production is a new version of Pinocchio, a magical adventure for family audiences. Follow Pinocchio and his grasshopper friend as they set out on an adventure to find some fun! Hiccup Theatre join forces with acclaimed writer for children Michael Rosen (We¹re going on a Bear Hunt) to bring Carlo Collodi¹s classic tale to life. Live music, puppetry, physical storytelling and longer and longer noses combine in a magical combination for children and their grown ups.
