Inescapably eccentric Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company like to make theatre out of anything! Musical instruments, old tools, bits of shiny paper- they mix it all up with a big splodge of imagination, cook it for two months and hey presto, a brand new show! Since 2001 Stuff and Nonsense has been creating fun-filled, mischievous, inventive and dynamic theatre productions for children and their parents.
Marc Parrett, Stuff and Nonsense’s founder and co Artistic Director is an internationally renowned puppetry director and puppet maker. He has worked with Aardman Animations, Green Ginger, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Bristol Old Vic and Travelling Light Theatre Company.
Niki McCretton, co-Artistic Director and Producer for the company, is an award-winning performer known for her solo shows for children and families, such at Muttnik the First Dog in Space, Space 50, Hoof! and Horseplay. Niki is a lead researcher with 5x5x5=creativity, specialising in enhancing creativity in the curriculum in early years settings and is passionate about using children’s ideas in the process of making theatre.
Stuff and Nonsense’s The company currently has two shows available for touring; The Elves and the Shoemaker (small-middle scale) and The Enormous Turnip(middle scale). Other shows are available for extended runs only including The Little Red Hen (middle scale). For 2012, Niki McCretton’s hit show Muttnik the First Dog in Space! is also back on the road.
